A British teenager named Arion Kurtaj or GTA 6 hacker who was hacking got a punishment. He took 90 parts of the not-yet-released game, Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6. Now, he has to stay in the hospital for an unknown time as part of his punishment.

Arion Kurtaj, who lives in Oxford and has autism, was an important person in a group called Lapsus$.
The group’s actions against big tech companies like Uber, Nvidia, and Rockstar Games made those companies lose almost $10 million.

In court, they said Kurtaj was sometimes aggressive while in jail. There were many reports of him hurting people or breaking things. Doctors said Kurtaj couldn’t go to trial because of his severe autism. The jury needed to decide if he did the things he was accused of, not if he meant to do them as a crime, according to the news.
The judge said Kurtaj’s skills and desire to commit cybercrime meant he remained a high risk to the public.
According to a report by the BBC, a mental health assessment during the sentencing hearing said that he still wants to go back to cyber-crime soon. The assessment mentioned that he is very determined to do it.
How did he hack the GTA 6?
As per guardian Report Even after his laptop was taken away, Kurtaj found a way to hack into Rockstar, the company that makes GTA. He used an Amazon Firestick, his hotel TV, and a phone to do it.
Kurtaj took 90 parts of the game Grand Theft Auto 6, even though the game wasn’t out yet. He got into the company’s private messaging system and said, “If Rockstar doesn’t talk to me on Telegram in a day, I’ll start sharing the source code.“
Then he shared the clips and source code on a forum using the name TeaPotUberHacker.
Later, he was arrested again and kept in custody until his trial.
Earlier this month, the video Trailer of GTA 6 was released. It got 128 million views on YouTube in just 4 days.
Kurtaj’s lawyers said that because the game’s trailer did so well, Kurtaj didn’t harm the game’s makers. They wanted the court to think about this when deciding his punishment.
But Judge Lees said that Kurtaj hurt real people by hacking them many times. She also mentioned that the companies he attacked, like Rockstar Games, had real problems because of his actions. Rockstar Games said it cost them $5 million to fix the hack and took a lot of their workers’ time too.

Further Hearing Involving GTA 6 Hacker
In the same six-week trial at Southwark Crown Court, another person from Lapsus$, who is 17 years old and can’t be named because of their age, was also found guilty.
This person worked with Kurtaj and other Lapsus$ members to hack into big companies like Nvidia and BT/EE, stealing information and asking for a $4 million ransom that wasn’t paid. They also stole from people by taking money from their online wallets.
The 17-year-old got an 18-month Youth Rehabilitation Order. This includes close supervision and a rule against using VPNs online. The judge also mentioned that, besides the hacking, this person was involved in a scary and unpleasant pattern of stalking and harassing two young women.
Kurtaj and the 17-year-old are the first members of Lapsus$ to be found guilty, but it’s believed that there are still others from the group who haven’t been caught.
