Domestic Career of Saika Ishaque
Ishaque started playing for the Bengal Women’s team in 2013 and has been a regular player since then. In October 2022, she played for Bengal in the Women’s Senior T20 Trophy. The next month, she joined the India A team for the Women’s T20 Challenger Trophy.
In February 2023, during the first Women’s Premier League auction, Mumbai Indians bought Ishaque for 10 lakhs. When she played her first season for Mumbai Indians, she did amazingly well. In 8 matches, she took 9 wickets and had an economy rate of 5.80.
Her performance was crucial in helping Mumbai Indians reach the final, where they won against Delhi Capitals to become the first WPL champions. Saika Ishaque was the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament.
